I don't remember shit. When did you first join carnivora? Was Dale Earnfart still there? I feel like I've seen you around but only clearly met you when you reached out and asked if I was Dale. It wasn't that long ago really. Oct. 30th, you weren't there. You reached out to me and asked if I was Bolushi sometime in February or March and I said yes and you said you were Dale. Then me and Alan were like ''Oh it's the legend himself!!!'' Yes I saw you around too. I actually asked the Jagdterrier on hounds question and when you answered I had the lingering suspicion you were Dale but didn't say anything because I wasn't sure.

@hardcastle You should post videos on your youtube channel where you talk about dogs and animals and shit. Doesn't even have to be just you talking you could do cool drawings or have a whiteboard like a teacher or something. Lol.

I've often thought I might start a youtube channel and instagram and etc when I get a farm. I don't really see the point right now.

You could do videos where you sit in a chair next to a whiteboard and talk about the dog family tree or whatever. A bit like this:

Not really my scene. Is that Lee Robinson? Lol You would get rich and feed our families. I don't think YouTube would be a big fan of your deer and kangaroo hunting videos. I think you'd also end up hearing sirens. You should upload it on streamable or rumble. And then upload pig hunting videos on youtube and general farm shit. Maybe you could do QnAs. Yes, lol.

They're big, a stag can weigh over 200 kgs or nearly 500 lbs. That said, they're not that tough or dangerous really. They should be more dangerous, their antlers are insane weapons but they don't use them very intelligently or bravely against predators. It would almost be a mishap or accident if your dog got impaled, rather than like a purposeful murder like a bull or boar will dog. I think my current BA could catch one. She's unfortunately only seen deer once and they were a pair of small fast male fallow deer that got away from her. They had a decent headstart. Bones actually bailed up a Rusa stag when he was a pup, he ran it down and overtook it and put it into a defensive position but then he just blasted it in the face with his stupidly loud barks until I dragged him away. He didn't really know what to do and never really did mature into a hunting dog. I made a mistake buying him from a guy who also bred catahoulas and said "they're the same thing, like american bull arabs" and I was like "wtf? and I should have walked away right there because I think bones may have even been crossed with catahoula. Either that or this guy just bred cur barky bull arabs. Winnie would have lugged that same deer for sure. Rusa stags are about 120-150 kgs (around 300 lbs). Reds are a step up but I think any legit one out pig dog should lug a Red stag. Deerhounds are basically designed specifically to lug red stags so that indicates what you need. I'd love to get footage of hunting, even with drones and stuff, that would be the dream. Can’t see how to reply without quoting; my Scottie nearly had a fallow deer. As ridiculous as that sounds over 25 yards he was on his hooves & I genuinely sweat it thinking he’s gonna get hurt. They just stroller out the hedgerow abot 3’ in front of him. All four deer & dog disappeared back into undergrowth with me sweating & swearing behind. Found him on his side immobile. Heart dropped but he’d just run himself into the ground….in about 100 yards… Im genuinely surprised reds aren’t more aggressive. We have them here (U.K.) but they’re kinda rare and super protected. We have no animal that could bother them. I kinda presumed a deer of that size would be a handful

I think it takes quite a dog to bring them down, but said dog probably won't need to endure beatings. It's like two different things. A large sighthound (like a scotch deerhound) has everything you need to bring down and even potentially kill a red deer. Bullbreeds come into play partially to add strong subjugation abilities, but as much or possibly more so to endure beatings. When it comes to enduring punishment from animals that fight back, bullbreeds are the ultimate dogs and maybe lbs for lbs the best mammalian carnivores on earth. Especially when you factor in taking the beating, dusting yourself off, and continuing the attack. Not much in the animal kingdom can better bullbreeds in that specific department, but deer just don't seem to call upon that quality. Not even red stags which are about where deer max out, until you talk about bull elk and bull moose. I'd say bull blood probably starts becoming necessary on them (although americans/canadians haven't really done anything to show us much). On boars, cattle, horses, bears, etc, that ability to take a beating is necessary and thats where the bull blood comes into the fore.

Hardcastle How's the book coming along? Have you been working on it?

Off and on. I have a "book plan" where I have weekly and monthly goals of so many words per week and month. Basically holds me accountable to see how much I'm doing and when I'm not doing anything. It was recommended to me by an Author/self publishing youtuber I watch and it seems to be a good idea. Last 2 weeks I've done nothing. But it's good to see that and feel bad and do better next week. So the goal on last month was 12 000 words. I actually only did 9560, so fell short. This month I did 9500 in the first week, but then 0 in weeks 2 and 3. I'd only need to do 2500 before 5th of January 2023 to meet my monthly goal, but if I wanted to catch up for last month as well (which I do) I'd do 4940, that would put me back on track for my ultimate goal of 85 000 words by 1st of June, 2023 (which is about how big I want the book to be, but if it goes bigger that's fine too).
So yeah... that's basically how I have to treat it. I've tried and given up many different times over the years with many different book ideas. This time I'm using strategies and taking advice from people who write books. It's counter intuitive to me to worry about counting words and all that, I'm more of an "artiste" who works on waves of "inspiration" when they come to me, but I think in real life this is just what it takes to get shit done. You have to be an organised disciplined type of person so I'm trying that.
