2-3. Megalodon was assuredly slow so the orcas could just pick it apart IF they play their cards right. Realistically 5 would be ideal.

More than 3 lol. It took over 40 orcas to kill a blue whale once. The megalodon is just over half the size of the blue whale and can actually defend itself. Orcas have never seen such a predator.

Also I heavily doubt that two 9 ton orcas could beat one 103 ton shark. Yes, the shark is dumb, but it's LEAGUES above two orcas. In my opinion killer whales can be overrated, I wouldn't favour a killer whale over a shark at similar sizes either, not to mention they have relatively weak jaws too. |

It survived for over 10 million years - 5 times as long as livyatan, and lived with orcas. It was not some slow and lethargic predator. It preyed on baleen whales much smaller than itself, the shark was obviously doing something right. I'm also sick of people saying that sharks aren't fighters. It's such a shitty excuse. What makes them any less of a fighter than other marine predators? Intelligence is a lousy answer, multiple animals that aren't necessarily smart are fantastic predators, like crocodiles for example. One bite from the shark would kill an orca, it's made up of cartilage, megalodon would be flexible. Blue whales can also travel at speeds surpassing 30 mph, it just doesn't seem like that since they're so large. |
