This guy wasn't using 40 kg alanos, he was using 15 kg baiting bulldogs from England.

The bear obviously didn’t want to fight and probably tried to run away.

While in these hypothetical match-ups its most likely that both animals are aware of each others presence, and are willing to fight.

The health of the bear also isn’t stated.

They were mostly captive fighting bears, so a wild bear will only find this all the more agonizing and perform all the worse. If the bear is running away that's the bear's problem, why do you think it's running?

There's no "bear", it's a lifetime of bears interacting with bulldogs. That's why videos are actually meaningless crap, it's much better to listen to people who have watched the interaction play out hundreds or thousands of times.

People who hunt bears with dogs have highly trained hounds and they rarely ever die. They only die if jumped on and pinned. It's most dangerous when you misplace a shot.
