I'd be inclined to favor the warrior spirit of the lion, but if the bear has a significant size advantage it should be favored. Important to note that bears are scavengers and very sloppy killers, and historically in organized lion vs bear fights those bears were actually experienced fighters unlike wild bears. I'm not exactly sure who won more often, but a captive fighting bear would whoop a wild bear's ass probably.

I tend to lean Grizzly on this matchup. They are sloppy killers for sure but a fight will be more about their durability and endurance and strength, and they surpass the lion in all those categories. I'd favour a lion at parity over an american black bear, maybe, but not most other bears. I'm a bear > Cat guy generally. Cats can impressively prey on bears around their size on occasion, but it seems if that attack doesn't go perfectly they get beat up in the ensuing struggle, and bears generally dominate most other face-to-face interactions.

I'm also a bear > cat guy (generally) but I think that the lion would have more experience and be more willing to fight. A lion is a combat specialized animal unlike tigers which get beaten up by bears because they're solitary and don't have a group to provide for them. I'd take the combat specialized cat barely more often than not against most bear populations, with a few exceptions. The bear is stronger but the lion knows how to use its paw swipes better than the bear does. How do you think the bear would approach the fight? I think the lion will just rush it and maul its face and try to latch onto its back. |

On my old Quora acc I actually posted the account of the village leopard killing 2 Rotts, I think they're relatively low tier, and those 2 Rotts especially must've sucked otherwise the leopard wouldn't've stuck around to fight them. They're a proto-gripping dog that loses to all the other gripping dogs. |

I dunno, you seem kind of shocked and appalled, but tbh I don't blame you because when he says things that are true they sound crazy. Then I say the same thing and it's like "oh yeah... Well when you put it like that..." I have 20 years more experience saying these crazy things, so... Yeah. I guess that makes sense. Generally speaking it actually would be stupid to believe what some kid like tristan/bolushi says, so you were right to dismiss him, but it's the weirdest thing... he IS right about dog things most of the time.
