Lacerations JUST on the head can also mean the dog was pinning the puma and doing a good job of wheeling away from the back legs. There was that greyhound on video pinning a small puma. Might have been like that.
When the puma does well I don't say the head is covered in lacerations, I say there is neat puncture wounds on the vertebrae, throat or skull, and then limited claw marks from a clean seize, somewhere on the body.
I do agree even a semi-decent puma, even a female around 80 lbs, should probably be able to pin a pure-ish sighthound. At the same time, I think they are pretty badly underestimated by most. What they lack in physical resilience and robusticity based power they make up for with technique, courage and fast twitch muscles.
If this was a dogo I would say the dogo whooped ass. It is surprising with a greyhound, but we could literally be looking at the handiwork of a 45 lbs cub or similar. My speculation would be heading in that direction.

In my opinion, there are few dogs more beautiful and functional than a lean, working malamute. They are quite literally multi-use, they can work as sled dogs, weight pulling dogs, bay dogs, watch dogs, rescue dogs and so on. Wonderful breed.
