I mean (in no particular order)- Mammalia (mammals) - Examples include humans, dogs, cats, elephants, and whales. Reptilia (reptiles) - Examples include snakes, lizards, turtles, and crocodiles. Aves (birds) - Examples include eagles, sparrows, penguins, and owls. Amphibia (amphibians) - Examples include frogs, toads, salamanders, and newts. Insecta (insects) - Examples include ants, bees, butterflies, beetles, and flies. Arachnida (arachnids) - Examples include spiders, scorpions, ticks, and mites. Crustacea (crustaceans) - Examples include crabs, lobsters, shrimp, and barnacles. Gastropoda (gastropods) - Examples include snails and slugs. Bivalvia (bivalves) - Examples include clams, mussels, and oysters. Cephalopoda (cephalopods) - Examples include squids, octopuses, and nautiluses. Chondrichthyes (cartilaginous fish) - Examples include sharks, rays, and skates. Osteichthyes (bony fish) - Examples include tuna, salmon, goldfish, and trout. Not sure if I missed anything?? From favourite to least favourite. Mine would be something like this- - Mammalia (mammals)
- Osteichthyes (bony fish)
- Aves (birds)
- Crustacea (crustaceans)
- Amphibia (amphibians)
- Insecta (insects)
- Bivalvia (bivalves)
- Cephalopoda (cephalopods)
- Gastropoda (gastropods)
- Reptilia (reptiles)
- Chondrichthyes (cartilaginous fish)
- Arachnida (arachnids)

Insects are number one. If all insects suddenly died all animals would be extinct within a century.

Having said that, you reminded me I like them more than I was thinking. I'm now remembering things like dragonflies and fireflies and christmas beetles and etc, even buzzing bees, things that make you feel like an environment is healthy. I might rearrange my ranking.

I know basically nothing about the others. I know a lot but its not my speciality or my expertise. My speciality and my expertise is in Mammalia and perhaps Reptilia. I know some people who do study birds, and I do too, but I mainly only have knowledge around raptor birds. So my speciality and expertise is extremely high in raptors too, so maybe birds.

From most to least favourite: Mammalia Chondrichthyes Reptilia Aves Osteichthyes Insecta Arachnida Cephalopoda Crustacea Amphibia Gastropoda Bivalvia I'm a little surprised to see mammalia at the top for you? I've not seen much indication you are that interested in Mammalia. Are you perhaps rating them higher out of a sense of obligation? "Well I guess I don't want humans to die, and I like my own dog" or something like that? My guess for you would have been cartilaginous fish 1st and reptiles 2nd for sure. They seem to be what you are genuinely passionate about, maybe "how it seems" can be decieving. I guess for me there's no real clue that I am passionate about bony fish, and it's hard for me to even articulate. I actually have recurring dreams about bony fish and have a strong affinity for them like they are almost my "spirit animal", but I don't really discuss or debate them because there isn't much meat on the bones to talk about. Crustaceans really appeal to me as well, in fact I almost felt obligated to put birds above them and I'm not sure it's genuine. Aquatic life, especially freshwater aquatic life- fish, crustaceans, aquatic insects/larvae, aquatic snails and freshwater bivalves and etc. That whole scene is very high up for me. I do like birds, but not sure if I actually should put them above those I just mentioned...

I feel partially obligated to put Mammals at number one -- after this forum's response to my liking of cartolaginous fish I now just don't want people to think that I'm weird for liking sharks and rays. So I don't like putting them at the highest spot, even if it may be true. I kinda just have to go with the flow. You know what I mean?

In truth it is reptiles and bugs and arachnids that are the most weird and nerdy anyway. Cartaliginous fish aren't REALLY in that category, they're actually more in a douchebag category like Tigers, but regardless you shouldn't worry about that stuff, any more than I worry about gripping dogs being in an inbred hillbilly category (which is not at all, I embrace it).

You can consider me the David Mech of this forum of wolves. I don’t overrate nor underrate them, and the wolf is neither a saint nor a sinner. We should take it for how it is. Its either “wolves eat your children and cattle” or “the wolves need to be everywhere to restore the ecosystem” and only to some level is this true. Wolves don’t affect rivers, they do affect prey populations positively though. From both sides it just makes everyone look like an idiot.
I plan on being a bison, cattle and (possibly) poultry farmer. But im not gonna go and kill every predator I see, in fact i’ll make my ranch where I don’t have to worry about predators. Constant supervision, protectants, and even researching the cattle breeds, and accepting losses. Bison you don’t even need to worry about actually except for a calf with coyotes, with wolves you may need a little more protection to keep your ranch animals alive, but still. Being trigger happy is a old way of solving predator losses, and other ranchers or other future ranchers need to at some point abandon it and work on moving on.

I believe in the "wolves effect rivers" thing tbh. Recent idiot shit about wolves was on the Joe Rogan experience where he was talking to a really dumb runner/bow hunter, a friends of his named "Cam Hanes". I watched the whole episode, but it might even be in this clip- They really love to subscribe to this idea that wolves are ruthless maniacal killers that kill everything with no restraint and no measured strategy or tactics, and what they are ultimately trying to argue is if you don't shoot wolves they will just eradicate all life on earth. It's SOOOOO dumb beyond belief, and I actually hope to one day confront him face to face about and teach his sorry ghoulie ass about wolves-

Rogan himself is obsessed with animals but never ceases to amaze me with how little he knows, and then it doesn't get much better with his hunter friends (Steve Rinella would be the exception), his intellectual friends also don't seem to know shit about animals, and as I've said before even his resident animal expert- Forrest Gallante, doesn't know shit about animals. Our dumbest ever guy, Hammerhead, could literally sit in the room and make about 8 animal fact corrections per episode, it's crazy.

I’ve pointed out that many elk hunters act like its a fucking crime when a predator gets to an elk beforehand. I saw a video of a mountain lion taking down an injured cow elk and the comments were like “shoot that cat and save the elk” and I thought these were from furmommies, but in reality these were elk hunters. It seems they are fine with them shooting the elk, but not predators. And if a predator does get their elk they view it similarly to a hate crime.

Do they plan on shooting down an entire herd of elk themselves, or? The predators aren't even going after their trophies. Hunters are stupid. Great but unsavory people. I go on hunting forums and fuck around sometimes, maybe inquire. I've been hollered at by dumb redneck hunters on facebook many times. Which is why I've stopped using it much...
"That's not a Presa! That's an Alano Espanol!" "Your story ain't right! I'm not going to tell you because I don't even know my own line but you're... wrong!!! Yeah!!! Fuck you!!!" "That dog is mine! (It was not his)"
