Tbh, if you really wanted to, you probably could track me down from reading my posts from here/cf/youtube/Quora (technically I do have an account but I’ve only used it once). If he ever tracks you down make sure you punch him incredibly hard in the scrotum repeatedly until you mush his testes into a paste.

Do any of you have coyotes in your neighbourhoods? I kind of get sick of seeing these urban/suburban coyotes strutting around confidently picking off pets at will and seemingly never having to "pay the piper" by running into the wrong dog. It seems weird that it NEVER happens. You see videos of country dogs killing them, especially in the western "great plains" states, and I bet the coyotes aren't so bold in that part of america, but is it really so rare to have a legit fast dog in urban/suburban areas of west coast, south east, new england, mid west, etc? The coyotes seem super bold. Feral dogs/dingoes in Australia would NEVER push their luck sniffing around town like that, especially in broad daylight. It's almost like Coyotes are better "pariah dogs" than... pariah dogs. Or is it a case of the dogs in urban/suburban America being especially harmless and naive? Imagine if more people had like pet dogals, for example, I just have a hard time imagining coyotes being so carefree and cocky if that was the case. Don't get me wrong, full credit to the coyote and you have to admire that it's really "winning" at life over there, but it's just kind of frustrating that they never get got. Lol. I definitely, absolutely agree. The coyotes I have seen where I live in the rural South of Georgia are very differently evolved from the ones in New York City. Most of the time we have farm dogs, or feral dogs and they absolutely would beat any coyotes ass. Thats why they are very skittish of dogs here, and likely wouldn’t even bother trying to a fight an overly bold Pomeranian. Where as the ones in New York City from where i’ve seen seem very bold in taking on dogs due to the fact they constantly take pets who don’t have any experience in what they’re doing. It seems with coyotes they can be more bold depending on what area they’re in, but they’re not very bold in my area, thats for sure.

Don't get me wrong, full credit to the coyote and you have to admire that it's really "winning" at life over there, but it's just kind of frustrating that they never get got. Lol. Recently i read coyote America by Dan flores. 10/10 book by the way. It turns out that persecuting coyotes is counterproductive because the coyotes stress response is to have more babies and range farther away. Coyotes were heavily persecuted inthe 1900s which lead them to spread to every major American city. This coincided with the decline of urban feral dogs and wolves so coyotes basically had free reigns. In the cities people couldn't afford to set poison baits everywhere and air gun coyotes so coyotes found cities a safe haven due to lack of persecution and plenty of rodents. Later on people realised that coyotes did more good than harm in the cities as they rarely attack humans compared to feral dogs and take mostly pest animals. They are still persecuted in the countryside with aerial gunning so coyotes are more plentiful near urban areas. The survival rate of coyotes in cities is triple of that in rural areas and comparable to the survival of coyotes in national parks due to lack of hunting and lack of dominant predators. Also coyotes can be considered semidomestic given that before the Europeans they have been recorded hanging out in the outskirts of Aztec and native American settlements.
