XL Bully wins easily. They're a fraud of a gripping dog but at least they're straight bulldogs and decent lead in catch dogs. Rottweilers are not, Rottweiler loses 10/10.

A dog fight, especially at parity, will always depend more on the individual rather than the breed. BUT ... all else equal the XL Bully has every advantage. Ruined or not, it's still a ruined fighting machine loaded with lots of fighter qualities. It will be found out in professional fighting, but in some amateurish scuffle against a rottweiler it should be fine.

I think XL Bullies have a good makeup to be a lead in catch dog despite poor stamina. Like if I had a farm and 2 collies and could pick any dog to catch and subdue a target at the bay, an American Bully could genuinely be an option. Now, if I just wanted a catch dog that could catch game, the American Bully would be the last on the list. I think it's a lot more practical to have a more versatile catch dog, especially if you have limited income to feed and care for a dog.
