The bison is more impressive but is smaller. I don't know.

I think the American Bison is probably the best bovine for bovine vs bovine fights, due to it's heavy adaptation for ramming contests, with a skull reinforced for blunt trauma and a front-heavy body frame generally honed for that purpose. Can also run with speed and then yes ram and "truck" in an immense collision with incredible force. I basically think it would knock a gaur out if they fought, probably break it's neck as well.
Doesn't mean it would be better killing or fending off predators, but just specifically bovine vs bovine fights I actually think the Bison is king.

The bison has a much thicker neck and seems to fight with its head more often.
