This is a thread to put any type of interaction between LGDs and wild predator, or even other LGDs/feral dogs/etc. I'm really interested in the wild predators killed by LGDs, I'll start this thread with a few kills on leopards and brown hyenas.

‘’One farmer reported that his Anatolian Shepherd had fought off two baboons – which are often reported killing small stock and ripping open their udders – that were aggressively threatening his herd. Other anecdotal accounts were reported of LGDs protecting their flocks from jackals, cheetahs, baboons and caracals. One LGD killed a leopard in defence of its flock. Cases of LGDs killing predators usually occurred near the corral after the dogs’ initial warnings had not been heeded; a high incidence of rabies was found in jackals killed by LGDs (Marker 2000c).’’ blackalderranch.weebly.com/uploads/1/2/9/2/12922508/livestock-guarding-dogs-their-current-use-world-wide.pdf‘’We have some observational data on how the livestock guarding dogs interacted with predators, with the dogs becoming very agitated and barking loudly at the approach of the predator. In some instances, farmers have witnessed their dogs fighting with predators, and the dogs have been recorded as killing jackal, leopards and baboons that were threatening the stock. Although adult Anatolian Shepherd Dogs, which weigh approximately 40 kg, outweigh baboons by 20-25 kg, they are fairly similar in size to leopards, which averaged 46 kg for males and 30 kg for females in our study area (Marker & Dickman in press).’’ cheetah.org/cheetah-2019/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/using-livestock-guarding-dogs-as-conflict-resolution-strategy.pdf‘’All subsistence farmers, but not all commercial farmers, ceased killing predators during the most recent year of guarding-dog use. All farmers ceased killing cheetah Acinonyx jubatus and leopard Panthera pardus during this year, and one dog killed a single cheetah.’’ www.cambridge.org/core/journals/oryx/article/more-bark-than-bite-the-role-of-livestock-guarding-dogs-in-predator-control-on-namibian-farmlands/607619E840644481488447558D32279B

Anatolian Shepherd Dog killed by a Brown Hyena. "Gillian started roaming after her owner sold her flock of sheep. She moved over to the neighbour’s sheep and she guarded them. She successfully defended them against a brown hyena attack, but the owner of the herd asked that she be removed and taken back to her farm. She then joined Simba in guarding his herd of goats. Gillian was last visited in April 2009 and no stock losses were reported by the new owner. Unfortunately Gillian was killed by a hyena during November 2009 while guarding the herd of goats. She will be replaced during January 2010." www.cheetah.co.za/pdf/dog_report_dec2009.pdf
