Let the insect wars begin!
Today I just watched a fire ant get attacked repeatedly. Harvester ant would just bite and let go and never got a fatal bite despite once ferreting the fire ant out of a tunnel it was digging and trying to sting. I haven't checked for a while, it was pretty aggressive towards it. I bet I'll find bits and pieces of it tomorrow. It tried to ferret it multiple times but was hesitant. I also have 2 crippled harvester ants that I crippled that likely won't make it to tomorrow, and some ''leafcutter'' ants. Tiny things. But they love to dig. I actually let one escape and live but the dumbass came back a few minutes later after leaving so I killed it. I threw a carpenter ant in with them but it was a worker and didn't engage.

Fire ants are smaller but sting worse.

Fire ants are smaller but sting worse. No they don't. Been getting bit since I was a toddler. I disagree. Fire ant bite you go ''ouch, that itches. anyways...'' Harvester ant bite you go ''God damn, that fucker bit me. *sits down and rests for a few seconds*'' Carpenter ant bite you go ''quit it'' Trap jaw ant bite you go ''What the fucking fucking fuck! Aaah, ouch! *takes many very deep breaths*''

We have harvesters here, Pogonomyrmex badius, but I order barbatus/occidentalis because it's what is sold. Badius lives on beaches, I've seen them before but never caught one because I had nothing on me.

They do, I think. I didn't measure it but I'd entertain that idea and I believe so.
