You're definitely overthinking it, and somehow underthinking simultaneously. African golden wolves? Ethiopian wolves? Jackals? African wild dogs? Why would african prey animals be confused by dogs? Even "Africanis" is basically africa's dingo. "Native" or not... africa is flooded with wild dogs. BTW most of the animals on africa aren't native, strictly speaking. Most are invasive from Eurasia. I have a question in my head I can’t get out. Do you think that prey animals in North America would see Airedale Terriers as a coyote due to their coloring or more like a wolf? (Got that from research on moose, coyotes and deer)

If this was an Airedale this cougar would be dead: Wild predators would learn when 95% of their populations die off due to mistaking Airedales for coyotes OR wolves.

Then what breeds do you think would be mistaken for wolves/for a wolf by like a deer stag or a cougar, maybe a coyote? I have never heard of Airedales hunting Cougars, only accounts of Dogos.

Airedales don't hunt them as catch dogs, but if you swap that coyote out with an Airedale a cougar in that position already has its windpipe crushed. Some Spitz would be as they match in behavior but an Airedale? No.

No. I believe that herders and gun dogs would also be mistaken for wolves to those prey animals. The one I think they have distinction is with Dogos and Airedales, along with most Terriers, except a Jagdterrier.

I feel most people in Carnivora including Taipan care more about debating then actually finding facts, information, and evidence, to find out who would actually win. It’s basically a debate forum. It’s supposedly a sport, called “competitive debating”. LOL
