Cur harasses and nips the lynx if it even warrants caution. Lynx jumps on cur, gets ravaged in retaliation and dies.

I actually like this matchup a lot... it's one of the most well-poised cat vs dog matchups I can imagine. They are the same size, both get to about 65 lbs max. A scenthound is too wussy to tangle with an equal sized cat, a bulldog is over kill in this low weight range (IMO!), but this is just right somewhere in the middle. The BMC is very rough and bites and scuffles, but also has a healthy self preservation instinct and will use "hit and run" wear down tactics as it sees fit. This is maybe the most pure "cat vs dog" match up possible.
As such, somewhat anti-climactically, I think it's split down the middle. A special individual from either side will beat a mediocre individual from the other.
Maybe just to be consistent with my general theories about combat dynamics, the lynx needing to secure the decisive kill puts it at a disadvantage. Not quite as badly as it is disadvantaged against a bulldog. The lynx being an assassin needs to be seen as a "KO artist". A bulldog is a "wrestler". A BMC is kind of like a boxer that lacks KO power but has good stamina and good fundamentals and footwork and etc etc. Generally speaking, in a boxing match, I probably think the smart money is on the more fundamentally sound "sweet science" practicioner. The boring well trained boxer, over the flashy gifted knock out artist. But obviously the latter FREQUENTLY disproves that idea, so I probably would swing back closer to 50/50. With flashy KO artist vs Wrestler, the "disproving" is more rare. Frustratingly so, at times, if you like cool knock-outs. The early days of UFC were so annoying because the KO artist just so regularly didn't quite get the clean shot they needed before being seized and controlled by the grappler. They have more opportunities against a "fellow" "striker" who also will stand back and give them space and trade shots. So yeah I like the EL's chances and I like the BMC's chances, it's just a very compelling matchup.

I think it depends on the cur's employment as well. Perhaps a cattle dog will be rougher and more assertive than a boardog cur. Perhaps... not sure.
