I'm badly qualified for dog ID but just for the fun of it will have a wild stab in the dark. Sometimes it's good to make a fool yourself.
Looks like a mongrel to me too -
1/4x Herder (Sheepdog)
3/4x 3/4 Bull-lurcher

I'd guess- Collie x pointer. And that cross also would make a handy companion for a rifleman.
Realistically that generic mutt appearance could be achieved with any number of potential crosses.
