 Let’s assume the human is an athletic individual, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He’s been in a couple fights himself, knows the basic fundamentals of striking and grappling, and isn’t afraid of pain. vs  An adult male red kangaroo out for blood.

The human will win. Kangaroos aren't good fighters and get killed by kelpies, collies and dingoes regularly. The biggest baddest reds obviously don't, but a human is far and away from getting killed by a 40lbs dog. Lol.

I will say kangaroos are better at fighting humans than they are at fighting dogs. A big red against "some guy", there's a fair chance the guy is getting knocked over repeatedly and made to look silly.
