Interesting question... Could be approached in many different ways. I kind of feel like I need to know what the "contest" is.

I'm unsure. Atlhough for me it's between a Brazilian jiu-jitsu or MMA world champion. One or the other.

Yeah so I was thinking if it's getting out of a cage alive, winning a fight, it's definitely a UFC champion. I'd differ slightly from you in that I'd say olympic wrestler and/or MMA Champion, rather than BJJ. I think an elite greco roman wrestling background with MMA(including BJJ) on top is the baddest possible person in a fight. One who is a genetic freak who has to cut weight to make heavyweight. We haven't necessarily seen this guy yet. It would be like if someone like Lebron James or Zion Williamson happened to do wrestling and fighting from a young age instead of basketball.
I was wondering if instead you meant like getting out of a desert/jungle/tundra alive while being hunted down by assassins or something. Lol.

All I saw in UFC were guys slithering around in a pool of blood with the floor covered in glass. The fuck is that shit?

I happen to enjoy professional wrestling. (so go ahead and sue me!) There is this badass female wrestler from down under from from the land of Oz. Her name is Rhea Ripley, this girl stands 5'8" tall and probably weighs no more than 150 pounds. Yet I saw her on live t.v. pick up and body slam Luke Gallows, who stands 6'8" tall and weighs 290.
I don't know who the "peak" male is but after witnessing the above, I sure as hell know who the peak female is!

Both the attitude era of the late 90s and early 00s, and the silly character era of the 80s and early 90s. I feel like it needs a good shake up at the moment.

If we are talking strictly by the best athlete then I would say DK Metcalf, if you don’t know him then look him up. He’s 6’4, 235 pounds, yet he can run 40 yards in 4.3-4.2 seconds, he also has hops.
However if we are talking about combat then it would probably be Jon Jones or khabib nurmagomedov. It could also be demetrious johnson if we are talking pound for pound

Peak human I'd say would be someone with the Universal Gift aka Renaissance Man. Such a human has "genius"-level ability in all three major areas of human endeavour - 1. Creative 2. Intelligence 3. Physical.
To be this kind of "peak human" this person must also not be hamstrung by any major health problems that would prevent them from realizing their abilities in all these three areas, as well as I guess the opportunity within their external environment.
I think Leonardo DaVinci was supposed to have had the Universal Gift and is an example of someone who realized most of or the full potential of it.

I think Leonardo DaVinci was supposed to have had the Universal Gift and is an example of someone who realized most of or the full potential of it. Now that's a very interesting way to answer the question... I've always been fascinated by freak specimen athletes since I can remember (which ran alongside my fascination with animals, humans just another animal), but I've also had a slow burn building fascination with "great men" since I was about 30 (and not a day before, didn't care before then or consider that concept at all). I've actually noted peripherally how much better Da'Vinci was than the rest of us (and I mean the rest of us humans, through history), with a handful of other renaissance men nipping at his heels and then really no one close. That's a level of excellence that's kind of unfathomable and alien to me. Even a hypothetical perfect version of myself with all the potential maxed out flawlessly would still be so short of Leonardo and nothing like him (though he did apparently struggle with procrastination, which is amusing when you consider his accomplishments). But I do still like the idea of a versatile renaissance man. One who is creative and sensitive and empathic, but also rugged and manly and sporty, and brutal and ruthless when necessary. Someone who is an artist and appreciates fine things in life, is also a talented writer and orator, high IQ with a vast general knowledge, but then can play a game of rugby, have a fist fight and kill a bear or sail to an exotic land with rough sailors and not be out of his depth. Then go to a fancy high class dinner party and fit in flawlessly. Etc etc. Leonardo Davinci is a little overqualified for what I mean, I am thinking more like Theodore Roosevelt, Ernest Hemingway, Jack London, Mark Twain, Banjo Patterson, David Attenborough to an extent ... many many more. Even some Kings from history were like this, and some Emperors. Leonardo would be a better example of "peak human", but these guys would be high level humans I could reasonably aspire to emulate.
