Got to give credit where credit is. Leopards are both belligerent and opportunistic. This could have potentially ended in a grim fate for the Dhole if it had not played its cards right. imgur.io/TYdIAgQ

It's safe to assume that particular dhole got caught by surprise/ambush. In both the videos I posted the dholes are so bold because they see the cat and know that as long as they see it then it can't really do shit. That's probably the real reason the top dhole was "trolling", it was keeping an eye on the tiger because then it can evade it. If it just runs away, then the tiger may follow it and ambush it. If the dhole keeps eyes on it, the tiger can't do anything. The dhole is too quick. We know leopards and tigers are very fast, and also have incredibly speedy reflexes, but they actually aren't that "quick" in moving their whole body this was or that way. Dholes, wolves, AWDs, spitz breeds, curs and scenthounds and etc can all somewhat safely harass big cats. There's a lateral movement advantage dogs have over cats which no one ever talks about.

Which is why I think Wild Dogs, like Dhole and the African Wild Dog, are awesome.
