A male whitetail in rut would probably win against the chimp. A chimp doesn't really have good killing technique and it doesn't have good leverage against the deer compared to a human (humans are taller than deer, so they can grab the antlers from above and push down, which is how people restrain deer. A chimp isn't tall enough to do that).
<--- Bucks like this one would decimate most chimps, I think we can all agree on that.
Would be interesting to ssee how these 2 animals would interact if they shared a habitat in the wild.

Around 136 kg iirc.

Around 136 kg iirc. I see. If that's the case, the chimp is pretty much screwed at max weights.
I think a 70kg deer (rounded up average) VS like.. a 75-80kg chimp may be a 50/50. At those sizes the chimp would be stronger and would thus stand a better chance. If it can break an antler (possible but unlikely to happen mid fight unless it goes on for like hours upon hours)

The 136kg chimpanzee was a captive "fatty"; normal maximum weight for wild chimps is ~70kg. So when it comes to scientific records, the buck will be almost 3x as heavy.

I rate chimps very highly, but styles make fights. I think chimps could beats lot of carnivorans who could kill white tailed buck, but they'd have basically no chance to kill a white tailed buck themselves.
