Too many for a poll, curious who would be the top 5 heavy hitters in your opinion. A chart for reference- linkMy favourite is Behemoth But I'd probably have to resist putting him in the top spot. I think- 1. King Ghidora 2. Methuselah 3. Godzilla 4. Behemoth 5. Gamera But I'm not confident, and ready to be schooled by @kaijufan1789 I can't say I'm a superfan but definitely think it's cool. I used to play a knock-off video game called "king of the monsters" when I was a kid. My favourite character in that was Beetle-Mania (on the left)

I am a huge Kaiju enthusiast, especially when it comes to Godzilla.

So Godzilla is number 1? Who would be the next four top contenders?

So Godzilla is number 1? Who would be the next four top contenders? Destroyah, SpaceGodzilla, King Ghidorah, and MechaGodzilla.

Heisei godzilla is def up there.
Heisei Godzilla lifted the majority of the 1.2 mile Daikoku island (or the entire thing, according to Okumura's recounting). In his weakest form.
And, after one upgrade, smashed Battra on the bottom of the ocean hard enough to split the planet's crust, a minimum depth of 3 miles, down to the mantle, which he swam through and reemerged through an inland volcano.
And, of course, he completely ignored an 840,000 ton meteor at ground zero, despite it shattering mountains on islands miles away and causing global floods.
Lifted the 160,000 ton MechaGodzilla at that angle and with that much distance between him and the mecha’s center of mass would require his biceps to exert 39.6GN in total - or over 2,000,000 tons of force for each arm. If he was to lift something with the center of mass right above the hands, he could deadlift 577,000 tons or more.
Edit: MechaGodzilla was actually like 150,000 tons so he would be able to lift 540,000+ tons, or roughly 1.5 Empire State Buildings.

Was I the only one who thought Godzilla vs Kong was a mismatch?

Was I the only one who thought Godzilla vs Kong was a mismatch? I think that's the general concensus among most people. They inflated Kong up to insane levels for Godzilla vs Kong (2021) just to make it somewhat plausible as a contest, and even still Kong was definitely the underdog.

I'm kind of fascinated by "humanoid" kaiju, but it seems maybe the modern kaiju "monsterverse" doesn't really touch on those? I thought "jet jaguar" was a humanoid but have since learned he's a robot. In my favourite video game series as a kid "king of the monsters" and "king of the monsters 2" there was the humanoid "Astro Guy" who evolved into "Atomic Guy", and then also a boss/villain named Eiffelyte who was like a giant humanoid infected with a cephalopodian parasite- Here's Astro Guy (vs Beetlemania)- And Atomic guy- IDK I find the idea of a giant human man fighting these monsters very funny.
