oldgreengrolar What do you think? I think Aquila eagles like the golden and wedge-tailed are stronger and more dominant than the fish/sea eagles. The bald eagle is my country’s national bird though.

Golden eagle have stronger feet than the bald Eagle. However, the letter in turn has a larger beak. Generally, golden Eagle’s are more aggressive.

Larger talons and feet are more useful in bird fights, Golden eagle wins.

My initial thought - Golden eagle wins. The Haliaeetus genus are a step down from the Aquila genus pretty much across the board.
I will say, however, looking it up now...
Bald Eagles are a little larger than I thought. I was picturing the Aquila vs Haliaeetus matchup I see in my neighbourhood, white bellied sea eagle vs Wedge tailed eagle (I don't see full blown fights but see real interactions, happen to live in a hot spot where they overlap). The Wedge tailed is very dominant and throws it's weight around, while the white bellied sea eagle gets out of it's way. The white belly is still a huge impressive bird up close but about 1.5 kgs lighter than a wedge tail (which is a lot of difference for birds of prey, none of which weigh alot). It seems the bald eagle is actually huge and I didn't realise. It weighs even more than a wedge tail? And pretty much equal to a golden? I guess it is closer than I thought, however I still rate the general abilities of Aquila eagles over fish/sea eagles. Again I think comes back to the taking of larger more impressive prey, and that translating to strength in the limbs which will in turn translate to an advantage in a close-quarter fight. Still, I will look at bald eagles a little differently from now on. Being up close to wedge tailed eagles it can be hard to imagine a larger eagle. I know they exist but really didn't think the Bald Eagle was among them. I was looking more towards the obvious Harpy, Martial, Philipine, Stellar's Sea, etc. I've always kind of overlooked the bald eagle, it's so cliche it's a little boring. But yeah pretty cool that it's so big.
