Funnel web would get full control and kill the ant. It's bigger and stronger. The formic acid would be very annoying though.

Funnel web is the only spider I'm actually impressed by. It is durable, strong, can move quickly and jump, and has punishing damaging fangs (not to even get started on the venom, will be irrelevant in many match ups probably). I think a funnel web would rip a tarantula apart. This Ant? I don't know much about it, but the best I could hope for with an ant is it being too small for a funnel web to dig into it, this ant seems to lose even that advantage. So I will say funnel web.
