I would say fossa. In fact fossas might be a real surprise package in a fight.
They say Fossas are a case of convergent evolution and are cat like, and in some ways that is true (the agility, aboreal feats and acrobatics for example), but they also have a lot of differences. For starters they aren't exactly ambush hunters, and actually utilise prolonged persistence chases through the trees. There is one case where Fossas working together (which is the unusual part) hunted a sifaka (a type of Lemur) for 45 minutes. That doesn't sound very cat like to me. Having persistence and stamina are very good qualities for fighting. Fossas do fight quite savagely for breeding rights too, as do cats, but it's worth noting they are notoriously savage fights. Also, small detail, but Fossas have huge dongs while cats have tiny ones. Somehow I feel that will help.
Anyway these are reasons I would definitely favour a fossa over a similar sized cat (albeit in a bit of an odd size range, it's parity matchups would have to be small-side caracals, ocelots and bobcats (the big ones unfortunately can be nearly twice the size of fossas) or big jaguarundi vs small side fossa. But yes match weights and I have fossas beating cats.
I don't know much about the red panda's fighting prowess. It should be blessed with a fair amount of durability and stamina but poor offense, logically. It's a little smaller than the fossa on average. At parity it would be a tough kill. Fossas don't usually kill things that big, although they have been known to kill domestic goats on occassion.
I'd side slightly with the fossa, but give the red panda a good chance of at least tanking and dissuading the attack.

It's just vaguely referenced here and there. I don't have a primary source and could be bullshit. Could be villagers just trying to justify killing fossas, or they may prey on only baby goats. I don't know for sure. It's mentioned on wikipedia, for example. Pic of Fossa beasting a lemur- Kind of rare to get footage or pics of them doing much. The way they can move through trees is incredible though, IMO unrivalled by any other carnivore.
