Were their bikinis original or was this a Western product?

Not entirely sure, but probably a western product. Or maybe there was the odd coconut bikini but they'd probably not bother most of the time. I think they usually just had their tits out.

Imagine if the Polynesian women went back to normal weights and wore either coconut bikinis or nothing in a few magical days. Wonder how much of the amount of jealous tourist moms/wives/girlfriends would increase in these islands?

Yeah true. Imagine when the grungy dirty british or french sailors had been at sea for months with no women and then they stumble onto some tropical paradise island full of babes like that. And btw their demeanours are really friendly and smily and nice as well. Those guys must have experienced the most turgid rods in human history.

Imagine what percent of those sailors were in their late teens-early 20s.
Men are already casually horny at this age range.

Wait, most of the European women at the time were psychiatric patients?
The first one would actually look better than a lot of present day Polynesian women.

They mostly seemed to look like shit it seems. When people are struggling and living miserable lives they look like shit. That was true for victorian england women and also true for many impoverished polynesian women today.

Fair enough.
Did the sailors breed with the Polynesian women?
Also, I am actually aware of a handful of Polynesians in my área.
I know of
-One Hawaiian girl
-One woman who married a Hawaiian (?) man
-One Middle Eastern man who married a Hawaiian woman.

That Marlon brando movie was based on a true story, "the mutiny on the bounty", where the sailors refused to get back on the ship and actually started a new society with their polynesian wives on Pitcairn Island, and they later moved to Norfolk Island where many of their descendants still live. Mel Gibson was in a remake of the movie.

I have dug into research on this topic before. Don't have time to dig up the studies now, but there are actually LOADs of them because it's a medical issue that is relevant to treating different ethnicities. When it comes to both bone density and muscle mass to body weight ratio, White people are basically in the middle. Below them are east asians and lower still are South Asians (Pakistanis/Indians/Bangladeshis/etc). Latin americans are about equal to whites. Above them are sub saharan africans but even above them are polynesians. It's relevant to doctors in assessing how overweight people are and how at risk of diabetes and heart problems they are. So what they found is Indians can seem like a healthy weight but actually be overweight and suffering ill health. Polynesians can be the opposite, seem overweight and even look overweight and be surprisingly healthy. I do believe this phenomenon is responsible for the fact sports are dominated by african americans, and polynesians are extremely overrepresented (per head of population) in American football and rugby. What’s the difference between Hispanic and Latino people?
