Resembling an African buffalo, although it was larger and possessed longer, curved horns. It probably weighed about 1,200 kilograms (2,600 lb), with the largest males attaining 2,000 kilograms (4,400 lb). vs. Bison latifrons, also known as the giant bison or long-horned bison, is an extinct species of bison that lived in North America during the Pleistocene epoch ranging from Alaska to Mexico. It was the largest and heaviest bovid ever to live in North America. Weighing from 1,250 kilograms (1,760 lb) to 2,000 kilograms (4,400 lb).

I favor the bison, it looks more stable and sturdy with its shoulder hump and deeper forequarters in general. I imagine it provides some protection as well as strength.
