Height: 28-30'' Weight: 60-100lbs Country of Origin: South Africa Family: Sighthound/Gripping Dog Type: Boarhound The Boergreyhound was made by crossing English greyhounds with bulldogs and herders. It is mainly 90% greyhound but some dogs swing different than others and I've seen some that had quite apparent bull influence. The herder blood makes it much smarter than the pure English greyhound and some can even pick apart porcupines. They hunt warthog, kudu, brown hyena, jackal, baboon and other quarry. Some also work cattle. The leopard has an exceptional ability to adapt to changes in prey availability, and has a very broad diet. It takes small prey where large ungulates are less common. The known prey of leopards ranges from dung beetles to adult elands, which can reach 900 kg (2,000 lb).[23] In sub-Saharan Africa, at least 92 prey species have been documented in leopard scat, including rodents, birds, small and large antelopes, hyraxes, hares, and arthropods. Leopards generally focus their hunting activity on locally abundant medium-sized ungulates in the 20 to 80 kg (44 to 176 lb) range, while opportunistically taking other prey.

This may be a bit much to ask of the Maritsane. It's possible but on average I'd probably favor the leopard. Was thinking about doing 2 but the leopard would just get butchered to death.

The Maritsane looks a bit too lean to take on a leopard if you ask me.

The Maritsane looks a bit too lean to take on a leopard if you ask me. I wouldn't say leanness is the dealbreaker, I just think that it's too small. At parity it would totally obliterate and be on the leopard's neck very fast although the claws would be problematic. At such a size disadvantage (100 vs 115-120lbs) I think while it could dominate the fight, the leopard would be grappling it down and biting on its head. Plus it MIGHT be a bit concerned with the claws, probably not but if it is then that's bad.
