The Asian black bear, also known as the Asiatic black bear, moon bear and white-chested bear, is a medium-sized bear species native to Asia that is largely adapted to an arboreal lifestyle. vs. The Asiatic lion is a population of Panthera leo leo that today survives in the wild only in India. Since the turn of the 20th century, its range has been restricted to Gir National Park and the surrounding areas in the Indian state of Gujarat. Historically, it inhabited much of southwest Asia to northern India.

I know nothing about Asiatic lions besides they're really different to African lions.

Both of these species deserve more attention and recognition. I’m actually going to back the lion for now as the ABB doesn’t seem quite as formidable as a similar-sized brown bear.

They are similar in size and personally I think Asiatic black bears are decent fighters so I favour it here.

American black bears are shitty but they're herbivores so it makes sense kind of. How are Asiatic black bears different?

American black bears are shitty but they're herbivores so it makes sense kind of. How are Asiatic black bears different? “Asian black bears seem to intimidate Himalayan brown bears in direct encounters. They eat the fruit dropped by Asian black bears from trees, as they themselves are too large and cumbersome to climb.” archive.org/details/cu31924022891133/page/n227/mode/2up“Asian black bears usually dominate Amur leopards in physical confrontations in heavily vegetated areas, while leopards are uppermost in open areas, though the outcome of such encounters is largely dependent on the size of the individual animals.” "Call of the Tiger" ^ - for some reason the link doesn't work so maybe you could try find it yourself, that's the name of the book, this is the ISBN > 978-1-Q4437-623 (REMOVE THE LETTER Q) “Some are very tenacious when attacked: Jim Corbett observed a fight between a tiger and the largest Asian black bear he had ever seen. The bear managed to chase off the tiger, despite having half its nose and scalp torn off. He twice saw Asian black bears carry off tiger kills when the latter was absent.” "Chapter Eleven: Jungle Contacts-II". The World of the Tiger ^ - another book

@hammerhead
Can you make a match-up involving the Spectacled bear please?
It’s just I don’t know what its opponent should be.

Asiatic lion being heavier can beat and will prey on both genders of black bears. However, an adult male Asiatic black bear could beat a lioness 6-7/10 times in a death match.

I now favour the lion since it’s larger, I thought they were the same size.
