The grizzly bear, also known as the North American brown bear or simply grizzly, is a population or subspecies of the brown bear inhabiting North America. In addition to the mainland grizzly, other morphological forms of brown bear in North America are sometimes identified as grizzly bears. vs. The Bengal tiger is a population of the Panthera tigris tigris subspecies. It ranks among the biggest wild cats alive today. It is considered to belong to the world's charismatic megafauna. Bengal tiger - Adult male in Kanha Tiger Reserve, India, shown above.

Wonder what people think of bear and cat match-ups at somewhat closer sizes. @hammerhead Bolushi Hardcastle oldgreengrolar For some reason I can’t '@' brobear… I’m sure he’ll notice this thread anyways.

I still favor the bear mainly due to its durability and superior grappling. This is really similar to lion vs grizzly bear.

I say bear but an interior grizzly would have problems.

Credited to Undertaker. Who do you favour? I would support the interior grizzly at upper weights. However, they are on average smaller than the Ussuri brown bear while the Bengal tiger is heavier than the Amur tiger on average. It is probably going to be close but male vs male, the grizzly wins 6/10 in my opinion.

Average fully grown male Yellowstone grizzly (9 years+) - 470 pounds. Average fully grown female Yellowstone grizzly (7 years+) - 304.08 pounds. Average mature Bengal tiger - 463 pounds. Average mature Bengal tigress - 304.2 pounds. *Close enough to call this a weight-parity face-off.
