oldgreengrolar I'd be interested in your Top 5, or 10 if you'd prefer (as per your "Top 10" comment in the "New Member" thread). I like the way you keep adding to the Polar Bear profile with interesting facts, that's a good idea. Guessing polar bear will be in your Top 5 somewhere? XD Alright. Here are my top five mammalian carnivores: 1) Polar bear/Glacier bear. 2)Tibetan blue bear. 3)Kemorde bear. 4)All other American black bears. 5)Siberian husky. 6)Arctic wolf. 7)Snow leopard. 8)White tiger/white lion. 9)Arctic fox. 10)Peninsula Alaskan brown bear. Didn't know you liked huskies, neat. I like them as well, but I'm biased as I own a husky x lab mix. I would never own another one because frankly even now me and my entire family after 7yrs are still underqualified. But all of us our slowing down now. He was well taken care of in his golden years of 0-5. |

Nice. Arctic wolves are definitely my favourite wolf too. And polar bears my favourite bears. I feel that polar bears are too one-dimensional in their niche and diet for me to really enjoy them. What makes you like polar bears? I'd imagine it's similar to boarhound vs bulldog where the boarhound is more versatile, like grizzlies and blackies, surprised that you prefer polar bears. Grolar bears get the best of both worlds. |

I guess I see it differently. I see the polar bear as the sleeker faster more athletic and predatory bear. It's a real hunter that traverses varied terrain over long distances and hauls big ass pinnipeds and cetaceans out of the ocean. The shortfaced bear would be my favourite if it was still alive because it too was a hunter. I like hunters, but somehow not the way cats do it. Other bears are just like fat guys sitting around in the woods eating berries and honey and gathering clams and etc. That doesn't get me excited, even though I know they are badass fighters.

That's a nice list of bears, exciting to have a "bear fan" in the house. Regarding my "Brown Bear" animal profile, if you have the desire to add to or expand on it with further posts, you're welcome to go for it to heart's content. Yeah I like how OGG has started a precedent for improving profiles over time by adding to them. We should all freely do that to any profile. I will start doing some profiles one day when I'm bored too.
