I'm placing my money on an adult male cape leopard, but I think a leopardess is outgunned by just about every animal on earth.

This is what a fighting panda looks like-
Not necessarily impressive but neither are leopardesses. A male leopard might be able to take the panda though.

I can't help but think the panda is the worst bear at combat by a considerable margin, but yeah it's big and has claws and teeth so probably beats leopardess.

The panda has the lowest level of metabolism rate in comparison to other bears but I have yet to see an account of a leopard preying on a giant panda.

There's not many leopards where pandas live I don't think, but also pandas are big and durable. They're still bears which affords them some durability that puts them beyond most leopards. I'd wager a fight to the death could play out differently. I do think I was selling the panda a bit short here given that fact, I didn't know they coexisted at all. If they can coexist and pandas can outfight Indochinese leopards they should probably beat a cape leopard.

Forget leopards, historically they coexisted with tigers That historic range was all tiger country. How did they evade tigers? Wasn't speed, wasn't camouflage, wasn't abundant breeding habits, flocking/herding... All I can guess is they are difficult to kill and tougher than they seem.

Yep Giant panda, while likely the least formidable lb-for-lb among bears, I think is still harder than most give it credit for. It's a rather robust carnivoran with the maul of a carnivoran, not a teddy bear.
While there's probably a lb-for-lb discussion to be had with Giant Panda vs Leopard, at weight the panda on average is too big for the leopard.
