Similar story to APBT vs CL to me, CL gets the life crushed out of it, the only difference is the Airedale's kill will be a lot quicker, before its claws can do much. A CL is much less durable than a peccary, which an Airedale is on record crushing the life out of very quickly. I wouldn't put it past an Airedale to crush a CL's skull.
Though there is a good bit of room for alternative opinions, e.g. it's a bird dog that's not awfully durable.
