I'd agree its a good matchup but its a good matchup with a clear winner; the dogo. Female or male dogo should be favoured over leopardess, even though male leopard should be favoured (largely thanks to size).

There is no way any Dogo worth its salt loses to a leopardess. It's a good matchup but a very sound dog victory.

A large exceptional leopardess of 110-120+ lbs like Nkoveni (who almost looks like a male) would very able to defeat a dogo imo, but the vast majority of 80-90 lb females really wouldn't tbh. Males are on a total different league. Male leopards are even at the same size much different than females, they are bulkier and more muscular and also proportionally more powerful - females aren't impressive even when put at parity with males. The difference is that sexual dimorphism in canids isn't in any way as marked, while in cats it's very marked. This is one of the largest female leopards ever hunted by the way - There's also some large female leopards that will give hell to a dogo imo - they almost look like males and yes imo they can be favoured against a dogo. Obviously these are exceptional females, but still females. http://instagram.com/p/Cmon3s5vE4P

I think that the leopardess would feel overwhelmed fast and quit. A male leopard that size is a totally different story though.

Well female leopards are generally less aggressive than males, generally given by the fact that they barely get into rival engagements with other females (which as consequence creates a less aggressive animal by nature) but I've already showed videos where female leopards have brutally brawled with each other with very insane explosiveness . They can and do get as aggressive as males and can fight brutally despite not being males. Here's a very famous example. www.instagram.com/reel/CU9nFk8jFKu/?igshid=MWZjMTM2ODFkZg==

Well that would be one hell of a fight... would depend on the individuals involved.

What a spineless loser leopard -
Hard to watch, imagine being such a coward you would rather hide in a tree than defend your children. That could've been prevented by the leopard just having a presence.
This is why I think female leopards are very poor fighting with awful mentality and my opinions of them are so lowly. Intraspecific fights not withstanding. Leopardess had the best reason possible to fight, and nearly every other animal on earth would have. It's not an unwinnable scenario, the hyena probably would've decided to run off had the leopard just jumped down and confronted it.

Yeah the excuses seem a bit hollow in a situation like that.
"no no its actually really smart to avoid injury and just have other cubs later" eh... not quite the same as staying uninjured to hunt another day.

Generally female leopards would give anything for their cubs. Female leopards have face to face attacked and crawled over matriarch spotted hyenas much larger than themselves in defense of their cubs. They are very agressive generally. The most badass leopardess still remains the one willingly walking up against an approaching male lion and growling at it.

Rebumping this. Male Dogo wins due to weight advantage, being more agressive and being more strongly-built than most Leopardesses/small male Leopards, unsure about female Dogo Vs Leopardess
