A size comparison and some wild interactions. In this case, I'd comfortably favor the emperor scorpion although most scorpions don't get anywhere as big. Scolopendra galapagoensis and Theraphosa Stirmi do reach the sizes in the picture regularly. Aphonopelma Chalcodes vs Scolopendra Heros Arizonensis Male Aphonopelma Hentzi vs Scolopendra Heros Casteniceps __ Hadrurus Arizonensis vs Scolopendra Heros http://instagram.com/p/CVRirf5MgKb tieba.baidu.com/p/8507531277?pid=148089538191&cid=0#148089538191Cant find any hadrurus vs aphonopelma. But the cool thing about the north american desert is that the centipede, tarantula, and scorpion are pretty evenly matched.

These cases pretty much support my theory. Against a female tarantula in its home court, the centipede does not have the awareness of the tarantula before its too late. However against a wandering male tarantula unfamiliar with its environment, the centipede wins.
Scorpion vs Centipede can go either way but hadrurus are much faster than the larger heterometrus/pandinus so it has less risk of the centipede catching it in its initial blitz and once it controls the head, the fight is over. The heros does seem to be weaker than the asian pedes as well

Is it a fair fight if the centipede doesn't seem to even know its in a fight? It seemed super chilled and confused, wasn't really interested in attacking, and all the tarantua did was bite it a couple of times. I struggle to even say that is a fight.

Its a fair fight in that there is no "home" field advantage for either the centipede or tarantula.. The south american centipedes are very chilled out compared to the asian pedes which are much faster. The tarantula has a spider sense which allows it to detect the threat before the centipede does which is usually the difference in centipede vs tarantula if the tarantula is in an environment its used to.

tieba.baidu.com/p/9023316795Theraphosa vs manticora isn't even a contest at all. Even for an immature theraphosa as it has the speed and weaponry advantage.
