I like the Red Panda more, and it does LOOK like it is better equipped to win with more impressive forelimbs and a more impressive head. At the same time I agree with the sentiment that the raccoon just seems "scrappier". The raccoon seems like a hobo vagrant drug addict that will stab you to death with the lid off a tin can over a discarded pizza crust. You have to respect the combative prowess of characters like that.
Incidentally I have seen a Red Panda in person, but it was just sleeping at the top of a tree at Australia Zoo.

I figured at least something gets to eat the food rather than throwing it in the garbage. I’ve noticed coyote droppings near the food pile; is this their way of marking/claiming territory or establishing dominance? Yeah most likely. |

This would be very close at similar sizes and could go either way. The Raccoon is more predatory and has longer teeth, while the Red Panda has a stronger bite and much more robust forelimbs.
