Height: 14-18" Weight: 15-30lbs Country of Origin: Germany Family: Terrier The Jagdterrier is a terrier from Germany, though they see the most action in the Americas. They're used to go into small spaces and kill the quarry inside after dragging it out of its hiding spot. Their main quarry are raccoons, badgers, groundhogs, foxes, bobcats and coyotes. Larger dogs above ground are used on large game like hogs, bears and mountain lions. They don't engage the latter two and are used over a rifle, but may engage hogs and subjugate them by latching onto their ears and wearing out the hog. Most of the time they are used in groups of 2-5 or in conjunction with larger dogs during big game hunts. It's also common for them to be around hounds when hunting coyotes and bobcats. They're the dog meant to engage and kill the target. They're also a common dog used for tracking as they have a good nose.
