Otters already do hunt caimans, I don't think this one stands a chance against the mustelid, especially with the size difference.

Otters already do hunt caimans, I don't think this one stands a chance against the mustelid, especially with the size difference. I agree, I think we could probably favour the amazonian river otter against a crocodilian a little larger than itself. Yacare Caimans have killed Otters in the Pantanal. Carter, S.K.; Rosas, F.C.W. Still I would slightly favour an amazonian river otter over a yacare tbh, especially if they were equal in size and fully aware of eachother's presence before the fight began.

Anyways I think the otter wins this. Otters pretty much boss around anything in SA, only staying clear of Electric eels and stringrays (for obvious reasons).

I mean otters are 57 to 71 lbs for males. That's still heavy.
