What do you guys think will happen? Loss of insects will (hopefully would) be very catastrophic and bad.

The way I see it we are still in the midst of an extinction event, we certainly haven't recovered from the last mass-extinction caused by human migration in the Pleistocene. All biomes across the planet are dramatically depleted and practically empty. A few scattered little nature preserves in Africa give some hint as to what the whole world should look like as far as biodiversity and biomass. Even they fall short, but give a slightly better idea. The whole world should be like a safari on the serengetti, just with different animals. It's totally fucked, everywhere. The worst part is the powers that be literally fight and combat the biomes from recovering.

Here is a graph by the IUCN attempting to measure the extinction of vertebrate species alone. ^The estimates in the graph were specifically noted to be "highly conservative," meaning it's very likely it might be downplaying the number of species that have gone extinct.
