It's telling JRTs aren't used much to hunt bobcat. I think a JRT is at fairly high risk against a sizeable male bobcat. At parity the terrier will win but once the bobcat is 5-10lbs heavier I'd be concerned for the JRT's safety while I wouldn't be very concerned about a Jagd or Patt.

I can imagine this fight would be pretty balanced, which is unacceptable to hunters. JRT's are toned down from patterdales but still basically similar and very closely related. I believe it wasn't that long ago they were one in the same, and black dogs and white dogs were coming out of the same litters, with people eventually taking some and making JRTs and taking others and making patts.
Anyway, I think I'd favour a big male bobcat most of the time, but think JRTs could pull out some wins and especially on lesser smaller bobcats.
