My money is on Bo, perhaps a big male striped hyena could win. Or even a normal one. This has the potential to be a terrible matchup for Bo, if Bo fails to control the hyena.

He doesn't have hunting or fighting training besides killing a few things (raccoon is the most noteworthy) and fighting with his cousin that he lives with. Striped hyenas are celebrated too much. Bo is big and he's tough, a big tough dog is a good contest with a striped hyena. Bo will be about 40-50lbs larger. So yeah unless the hyena gets itself together it is probably going to lose. I'm still not sure how Bo would approach the hyena, but the hyena is in no way shape or form good at fighting things larger than it, or fighting anything at all. Granted, the only time we've seen brown/striped hyenas fight dogs is when they're fighting gripping dogs which I'd certainly place over Bo, but I don't think it'd be as empathetic a victory with Bo as it is with a hyena which is like grappling with a giant daddy long legs spider.

If Bo had a training camp for 3 months with a priority on cardio and nutrition I think he would win. Lol.

Yeah, may be a bad matchup for poor old bo. If it was a mountain lion then the mountain lion may actually struggle to subdue bo and apply the killer bite to his thick protected neck and etc. What he needs for this matchup with a hyena is footwork and lateral movement to avoid the clumsy hyenas damaging bites (to wherever, the hyena doesn't really care), he seems kind of compromised in those departments and the hyena might have no trouble just taking bites out of him.

Do you think if Luke was there to clown the hyena with his footwork Bo would have a good opening for victory?

If you’re dog has no experience with fighing large animals then the hyena will kill it. The hyena is also better built and the thick mane will get in the way.

It's just a hyena, and Bo is considerably larger. With that being said Bo needs to go to the gym, then he'd have better odds. Will probably lose. Striped hyenas don't really get much experience either, they eat dead things. At least Bo fights the smaller dog he lives with. The hyena is tougher due to being wild though. Usually wild is a flimsy BS excuse but it is somewhat of an advantage here.
