SuperCat's First Thread: Information House

Hey everybody! The talk of the town or “the talk of the board” is that the fate of FoodChain hangs in the balance.



Every now and then, we hear somebody saying “ohhhh, I’m fed up, I don’t know what to do, I’m leaving” and things like that. 



And since I love and cherish this board a lot, I just thought of something I could make that may just help keep people attracted.


Since I too honestly don’t know of any animal battle I can create that will gather people’s interests, I just decided to make a thread which is more like an “information house." 


Somewhere where I’ll post the links to pages that people can have a fun time reading, pages that will give valuable information. The thread will contain sources that cut across everyone’s area of interest, I’ll do my best to ensure that.


By that, I mean providing information related to wolves for people like Wyatt who loves wolves, or dogs for the top dog knowledgeable guys like Antonio and Tristan, or bears for guys like Oldgreengrolar.


I know since a lot of what I’ll be posting may not be my SPECIFIC area of interest, I may not have the “best" information or may not provide anything all too exciting.


For instance, dogs are uncharted territory for me, and when talking to guys like Hardcastle or Bolushi, there’s only so much I want to post related to dogs that they don’t already know.


It’s just to say that there might be a little preaching to the choir, but I’ll try my very hardest to get new and fresh information that will to some extent keep people amused with the thread.


Also feel free to add whatever information you might have, that will be very much appreciated. And I promise that I won’t make it a cat info-dominated thread just so it won’t look like something I made just for myself.


Feel free to discuss anything about whatever information you find in any of the pages. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a store of information. We can also have normal (animal) conversations here.

The bison vs spanish bulls story is interesting. Aligns with what I speculated would be the case. The bison is IMO the best bovine vs bovine fighter, due to the pivotting ability described and the reinforced skull for collisions.
However, somewhat counter-intuitively, since the bison is a wild ungulate fighting off predators all the time and the spanish bull is not wild, I actually think the spanish bull would be more dangerous to predators than the bison. I think it has more offensive killing ability against smaller fleshier predators. A lot of the bison vs wolf interactions I've seen, I have no doubt, would have ended fairly quickly with a dead wolf/dead wolves if the bison was instead a spanish bull. I don't think the bison has great ability to kill predators.
But spanish bull vs bison? Yes I would vote bison every time.

I agree. I too think that it would beat any other type of cattle in a fight mainly because of the skull. I think what happened to those bulls is what would happen to any other type of cattle: they would basically run away saying "this guy's skull is not of this world." 

Though I should say that I think the gaur is stronger physically, in terms of musculature and raw physical strength, but since in cattle fights the "battle-winning strength" is all focused on the skull, the beast that can strike harder should take the win.

Yes, Spanish bulls are the best at fighting off or outright killing predators. They're like a cape buffalo on steroids in terms of aggression, and cape buffaloes are already very nasty among wild cattle species. 

That's why predators that can kill bison and gaurs which are stronger than Spanish bulls would lose to a Spanish bull.

Tigers doing better than lions at fighting bears is interesting to hear, although the website doesn't list any accounts or examples.
The old historic sources I've seen seem to favor the lion generally in these pit fights, but it doesn't seem implausible for the tiger to do better against an opponent it actually clashes with in the wild.

I could believe that about guar, body wise they are clearly mountainous and massive, but their head and neck seems relatively unimpressive so I would fear for them in bovine vs bovine.

Chased down an opossum in a Meijer parking lot today. Got within 1ft of it and chased its slow ass for a bit. Wish I recorded it. In fact I wish I grabbed it.
