Simple premise: we list out 8-16 small animals at 25 pounds and we create a tournament to crown the "best" fighter at the weight class.we will have more of these at higher or lower weights
Preliminary list (feel free to add or subtract more animals) I'm trying for some diversity.
No venom only on land. All animals weigh 25 pounds
Cats: Ocelot Bobcat Caracal Fishing cat African golden cat Asian golden cat
Dogs: Jagdterrier Basenji Western Coyote Culpeo Zorro Golden jackal
Mustelids: Honey badger American badger Eurasian badger
Other carnivorans Fossa Common raccoon
Marsupials: Tasmanian devil
Snakes: Boa Constrictor Black headed python
Lizards: Crocodile monitor Lace monitor
Crocodilians: Cuivers dwarf caiman
Birds : Harpy eagle Eurasian Black vulture
We'll probably cut down the final field to 8.
Currently thinking as the final 8
Harpy eagle Jagdterrier Basenji Ocelot Tasmanian devil Boa Constrictor Honey badger Crocodile Monitor
Let me know about your thoughts?

I think Harpy eagle Jagdterrier Basenji Ocelot Tasmanian devil Boa Constrictor Honey badger Crocodile Monitor
This should be the field as it leads to some good matches. I requested all four quarterfinal matches by random seeding in the arena. Please approve quick @ling

Ling has nothing to do with the interspecific conflict thread, I moderate that... it doesn't display but I'm the one running it.

Can we have the SBT if you don't mind? I'd swap it out with the boa because... the boa doesn't even belong here. This is NOT a good weight for a boa to be.

We can make the winner face the sbt in a superfight. I can already guess who wins

As ja morant would say, I'm fine at 25 pounds. The boa is recorded to have a win over a very large ocelot one of the favorites of this tourney. The boa was probably not much larger in an empty stomach carnivora.net/ocelot-v-red-tailed-boa-t6118.html

Perching yourself on a branch and jumping on an ocelot and putting it in a kill position instantly is not the same as 2 face to face combatants. That is how I think a boa would kill an ocelot. It is like an environmental hazard. If it was an ambush that backfired that would be something.

Bolushi @ling.and a female boa is too big but a male is just right . Possibly replacing it with a carpet python but willing to take suggestions. Ideally something different from our current field.

Yes I agree (see image). A smaller snake is needed. But which? I don't know actually - a lot of choices. Sent from my SM-A105FN using Tapatalk

A carpet python would work as well although the boa is probably more impressive. The reptile specialist black headed python can be used as well

But of course we're using wild specimens here unlike the one in the image (captive ones get a good bit bigger). So yes correct. I agree with everything you said. Sent from my SM-A105FN using Tapatalk
