Barbary lion seems to have lived a tougher life style with more fighting experience and the cave lion has a slight size edge. Hm... ar7pr Thoughts? I think that the cave lion will have not more than 57% chance to win against the Barbary lion because they are about the same size and weight. The height of a adult male Barbary lion was 1.1 meters (3.6 feet) at the shoulders and it's weight ranged from 270-350 kg. While the height of a adult male cave lion was 1.2 meters (4 feet) at the shoulders and it's weight ranged from 300-363 kg. So a cave lion is slightly bigger and heavier than the Barbary lion. The bite force of a Barbary lion was about 1000 psi while the bite force of a cave lion was 1800 psi. So a cave lion is far ahead in terms of Barbary lion. When it comes to speed the top speed of a Barbary lion was 80 km/h while the top speed of a cave lion was only 55 km/h. So a Barbary lion is ahead of the cave lion in terms of speed. When it comes to strength Barbary lion had 62% muscle mass while cave lion had 74% muscle mass so a cave lion had more strength than the Barbary lion. The Barbary lion had a protective mane while the cave lion had no mane . So the Barbary lion has one advantage here. The results are - a Barbary lion is faster, more agile and has a protective mane. While the advantages of a cave lion are it is slightly bigger, and heavier, and it has a powerful bite force and is also strong. So a Barbary lion has 3 advantages and cave lion has 4 advantages so the cave lion would have more chance to win against the Barbary lion but not more than 57%. What's your thoughts?
