I'm not the best size comparison maker but here is a slightly below average staghound next to a large male NW wolf:

The staghound would be too quick for the wolf to touch, and eventually the wolf could end up dead but I may ever so slightly lean wolf. In the size comparison above I'd definitely lean wolf but on average I would place my money on the dog and bite my lip.

vs In most of those situations, I believe the Staghound is fucked. If it were one of those dramatically huge Staghounds maybe it would have a chance. But i’ve seen a lot of size and weight difference depending on the line of Staghound. Bolushi

Close one, it could go either way at average weight but in the size comparison bolushi made, I say wolf

This picture is a mismatch in favour of the wolf. Yes, yes it is. So why did you do that? Are you turning wolfaboo?

IMO it would take a special staghound, and a large one where it would start being more accurate to call it (funnily enough) a "wolfhound", to take on a large northwestern timberwolf. Generally most staghounds would fail 1 on 1. However, average staghound vs average "wolf", globally, and the staghound would be favoured. Note that despite appearances the staghound on the right would actually weigh more than the wolf on the right, and globally speaking working staghounds would average higher weights than wolves. The two on the left also probably weigh about the same.

So why did you do that? Are you turning wolfaboo? Yes, Black Ice 2.0 I have been arguing pretty hard for wolves lately. Though just not against dogs. My size comparison was heavily wolf favored due to my own convenience in image locating. I took a random wolf picture from my stock of size comparison photos and it happened to be a huge male wolf and then the clearest picture I could find of a staghound was a small female.

It's next to a huge wolf, that's a relatively small staghound, it was the middle of the winter so the wolf would have a heavy coat and the wolf looks bigger at the same size but that one is like 30lbs bigger. So yeah it looks not great, I'm also not the best at scaling things but I try. Undertaker left, not my fault.
