''I used to run a trap line and had sets just for bobcats. If you didn't check them every day there was a good chance of an eagle (golden), killing it and ruining the pelt. Several times when I caught a cat, I usually had double sets, a coyote would badger the cat and get caught and the coyote would get shredded. The coyote would definitely fair better if he wasn't caught and could maneuver. The coyote could disengage if it wasn't trapped but if caught within the strike range of a bobcat it always got tore up, badly.''

Eagles are stronger that cats p4p imo. Sent from my SM-A105FN using Tapatalk I favor vast majority of carnivorans against the "lynx" genus, and it only becomes a contest with the Eurasian lynx as far as "somewhat strong animals" go. Here's a rough list of worthy contenders for each class. The contenders in each category are not listed in order. Fox, lynx, maned wolf Raccoon, American badger European badger, honey badger, terrier Pastoral herder, coyote, golden/indian/etc. wolf Cheetah, Golden/Harpy Eagle Red wolf, Spitz, dingo, dhole, African wild dog, clouded leopard, Eurasian lynx, cur, continental herder, greyhound Gray wolf, staghound Cougar, leopard, gripping dog, livestock guardian dog, wolfhound I think a Golden eagle can beat far more formidable animals than a lynx. And I think it would beat a Eurasian lynx.

While the golden eagle has longer talons and possibly stronger bones pound to pound, its body which is made of feathers and thin skin is vulnerable to scratches. It’s lungs situated above its body makes it vulnerable to puncture marks from above.

According to that quote Bobcat > coyote Aaah no, funny how he doesn't mention coyotes getting killed by either, despite also being trapped. Bobcats don't have the weapons to kill similarly sized carnivores effectively even if they gain the advantage. A golden eagle is wise to attack a bobcat rather than a coyote. Anything is wiser to go for a bobcat than a coyote.
