Little history on the Hangin’ Tree first, so the Hangin’ Tree is made of four breeds, Border Collie, Catahoula, Kelpie, and Australian Shepherd just for kicks maybe, or maybe something else i’m not aware of. Backing up, it took 70 years to make the Doberman breed and they were going for temperament and looks. 70 years to make that breed. Now you got the Hangin’ Tree thats no more than 30 years old. There is reportedly and from observation a lot of inconsistency in the breed because they haven’t been around long enough to be established. Theres too many guys breeding them with different outlooks. The idea I mentioned with the Doberman is that one family invented that breed. He bred those dogs until the day he died, all for what he wanted and then the son took it over and finished it out and etc, etc even though the breed was just some mans deluded idea. There is no consistency there, you don’t know what Hangin’ Tree you’re gonna get because they’re not old enough. Can you get there? Absolutely if some guys would take and have the same ideals of what they are looking for, line breed and go that route, they could get there. But right now they’re all over the board. The other thing I don’t like about em’ is a lot of them bark. A little adrenaline is fine but when they are working they get a sudden extreme adrenaline rush and it goes downhill from there. They call them the cowboy Cadillacs. I’ve only seen a couple that were even decent. For the most part, they’re a fly-by, cheapshot cow dog, stir cattle up. Of course many are gritty but some aren’t. Many times when those dogs are doing that they’re doing it for one or more reasons, all jacked up on adrenaline when working like a little kid on Mountain Dew or they’re afraid. They bite only out of fear, not all dogs, but many people think a dog biting out of pure fear is tough. Maybe Bolushi can dig and find some Hangin’ Trees which are good.

I think it has a little bulldog in it too. Will do some digging in a bit.
