Space theme available, might need some fixing/completing though. Made this one as sterile as possible so Bolushi could handle it.

Bolushi is there an epic banner image you've got for a HogginGameWars theme? There's that hog-hunting video of dogs flying through the air, it'd be good to get a still-shot of something like that.

Fucking yeah, fist pump that shit! 👊 (don't leave me hanging) Decided to make it way easier on myself this time by not choosing a board background that I have to do a thousand customizations on to be readable, so this one only took an hour or two. You can pump them out without too much grief if you don't put yourself through too much customization. And I guess the more themes you do the easier it gets. The worst part is all the trial-and-error in Advanced CSS because you don't quite know what changes does what on the test screen. So it's change something then scroll down and check, then scroll back up and rinse and repeat a thousand times. But when you get to know what everything does then I guess it should get way easier. But the learning stage sucks. |

And yes, I'm a little scared of the advanced side of theme editing.
Spacetime is my go-to for now. My only criticism, now I'm on a computer, would be the resolution of the banner. But that's not your fault, they have their absurdly low sile-size limit for the banner so it is what it is. The design is really incredible. Every part. The orange text on the space backdrop contrasts perfectly and in a pleasing way, and then you switch to light coloured boards with dark text... I think that's actually my preferred look if I think back on my forum experiences, black text on a light background, but I didn't like any time I tried it. I like it this time.

There is still a bunch of customization edits in the Advanced CSS I don't know what it correlates to on the test screen and it can be a little risky doing trial-and-error on a working theme. Which is why I think I'll create a permanently disabled "TestTheme" theme we can use to figure that stuff out without the risk of messing up a going concern. Maybe two of them, TestThemeHC and TestThemeAJ. With SpaceTime there's a couple of very minor bugs I don't think I can fix without changing other customization I don't want to change. Basically some of the writing in the polls is too dark against the background but I think that text is tied in with the post text which I don't want to make a light colour. And right down the bottom is the same problem in the Reply title under the Shoutbox. I don't think these are deal breakers for the theme but it is annoying I can't make it all good. Not to worry, it's "Take the good with the bad". |

As I thumb up your post, I guess ideally that thumb up would cause the thumb to change colour more significantly/clearly. There are often little issues like that you notice when you stick with a theme. Bit whatever, I love it.

And this can be the hard side to using a Board background with dark in it because as soon as you do that you have to undergo extra customization on the user Board to accommodate it given the Board is customized by default to work with a light background.

As I thumb up your post, I guess ideally that thumb up would cause the thumb to change colour more significantly/clearly. There are often little issues like that you notice when you stick with a theme. Bit whatever, I love it. I get it. On the Default theme it works the same as SpaceTime because both thumb buttons are white. But on Okavango the thumb button is a darker colour which seems to change colour when you hover over it. I'm sure there's an edit for the thumb button up there in Admin somewhere lol. |

Yeah you have to actually use a theme for a while before you notice the little quirks. But to me this is the best one. I'd now say space #1, pleisto #2. Before I said pleisto 1 and sundaland 2, but was maybe starting to entertain homeschool as 2.

The videos won't work on themes, and even when I did a video capture, because they're on the small side resolution is bad when I scale it up. That first image might work though, I'll have to try it. The bigger the image is the better. Hardcastle is able to create colleges like he did for the banner of HomeschoolShooter, something I might have to learn. And with colleges that hardly need to be scaled up so resolution isn't an issue. I work on a chromebook but downloaded some sort of paint or photoshop program last week, never used it yet though. But hopefully that program can create colleges. Yeah unless the image is already quite big and doesn't require much scalling up I'll probably have to go with a college. |
