Heck if I know for sure but even at parity I'll say Giant Schauzer because it reminds me of Airedale terrier. What category/type IS giant schauzer in...?
Primitive/pariah
Spitz

Herding and pastoral dogs
European sighthounds

All indications point to Giant Schnauzers being at least close-ish to the Airedale Terrier and an Airedale Terrier would rip off a GSD's appendages so...
Giant Schnauzers should belong in Cur with the Airedale.

One kind of pieced together though fairly recently. The Bouvier des Flandres would be like it's real ancestral form, and that is kind of a primitive droving cattle dog. Moving a herd of cattle in one direction over a fairly long distance. Favoured for guarding on the way, because people liked stealing cattle back then. It's almost like a furry rottweiler. I actually would say the bouvier is better than the rottweiler and would beat it up most of the time. Giant Schnauzer.. probably would also, but less confidence. Bouvier beats giant schnauzer IMO. But yeah I'd give the Giant Schnauzer an advantage over the GSD. |
