Imo the best dog breed is the smartest and most active dog breed. So Border Collie.

Who told you border collies are the smartest or most active? I never saw a serious farmer use them.

It depends what you need the dog to do, different dogs are better for different uses

And it has been scientifically proven that they're the smartest dog breed. So... do they work remotely with a redneck farmer or do they herd sheep in pens for funsies? Probably somewhere inbetween is my guess. No it has not. Kelpies and Australian Shepherds are at a bare minimum equal and likely higher. LGDs are up there. Spitz are for sure up there and I may even argue they're the hands down smartest dogs. LGDs are slightly below, continental herder level. Their study was bullshit with many significant glaring flaws. Most active my ass. No "breed" is the smartest or most active BTW. They will be mutts.

Australian Shepherds are shit. I don’t like how they work, and I don’t like them. Everything else I agree with though. All dogs are dogs and have equal behaviors when it comes to if they lick vomit off the rocks or hunt. But some have been limited or heightened depending on the job, and how the owners raise them. This is why Fluffy whites have little prey drive if any, because they are a close working guarding dog. And why Herders and Curs have high is because they are bred and raised for it and encouraged.
