Luke's track record is a question mark, he likely did participate in the killing of the raccoon and the other thing that was either a raccoon or opossum. But he probably let Bo do the hard work and then tagged along at the end. He does have experience with fighting Bo (although the few times it got serious on land, Bo fucked him up), and Yoshi has experience with fighting young raccoons...
