I'm not good at this. I like the friday the 13th franchise better than the halloween franchise, but I don't follow closely enough to know which character is more formidable.

They're both shit, although I like the Halloween franchise more, Friday The 13th has had like, one good movie, which was the first one, and that movie didn't even feature Jason as the main villian.

I don't know if I've even really sat through a whole Halloween movie. I never got into that franchise. Also never got in to freddy Krueger. So it's not that I actually think friday the 13th is better its more just that it's more familiar. I probably like Leatherface/texas chainsaw massacre better than both. Both the villain and the movies.
I enjoyed the recent movie "X" which had a somewhat similar vibe to these movies. And now there's the prequel "pearl" which I haven't seen but looks ok.
I forgot Pet Sematary. I like both versions almost equally.

I like Evil Dead and zombie movies better than slasher movies. I also liked the Scream franchise due to them going for a meta take on the slasher franchise.
However, if you search up a bit on their superhuman strengths, then Jason could win in a barehanded fight. He can punch a head off, he could crush skulls, throw people several feet and even tear off arms. Not to mention that he can lift a car in the comics.
Also, he became part machine with enhanced strength in 'Jason X'
