Size comparison doesn't look good for the Aussie- I want him to win, but feel there's no way. Makhachev is bigger and the far more accomplished wrestler. The only thing I will say for Volkanovski is he's a Rugby League guy, played in the feeder teams for the NRL. Those guys are just drilled and trained different. So while Makhachev thinks Alex has "no wrestling", it's actually not true because those guys drill and train wrestling all day every day, not all rugby just specifically NRL and feeder leagues. So he may surprise Islam with his resistance, and he is just one of those impossibly stubborn "winner" mentality guys. But still... Daghestani wrestlers are ridiculous, and this much bigger? Yikes.

Well that was an epic fight. Volks wrestling or anti-wrestling, really shocked and flustered Islam, and the experts. I think he basically got robbed with that decision, he stuffed everything Islam tried and ended the fight on top of him kicking his ass.
For those who don't know, this was an epic historic fight. Two champions from two different weight classes, the smaller volkanovski went up a weight class to try and become a double champ. More than that, this was 1 vs 2 in the p4p rankings. Basically two goat contenders in their prime. Technically might have been the most elite level MMA fight to ever take place.
The bigger Islam Makhachev had his hand raised in the end, but I think most watching have come away believing the loser is actually the better fighter due to what went down.
